The Battle of Rorke's drift
The artwork recreates the narrative of the battle at Rorke's Drift. Instead of a European narrative documenting the battle, Muafangejo focuses on the African version. The figures are stiff with staring eyes, whether they are dead or alive. The scale is the key to understanding the intension of the artist which is to document South African history in a positive narrative for the oppressed people of South Africa at the time.
